Meet our amazing African Penguins and explore Boulders Beach!
Join one of our expert Animal Rangers for a unique behind-the-scenes experience with our African penguins at Boulders Beach. Get closer to these charismatic, sociable birds and discover what life is really like behind the scenes, as you learn about their daily care, feeding routines and the individual personalities that make every penguin wonderfully unique.
Your Animal Ranger will share fascinating insights into the lives of our penguins, from their natural behaviours and social relationships to the challenges they face in the wild. You’ll also discover more about our conservation and breeding programme and the vital work we’re doing to help protect the future of this critically endangered species.
But the experience doesn’t stop at learning - you’ll have the opportunity to get involved yourself and help feed our penguins a fishy feast. It’s a fantastic opportunities to get up close and enjoy a truly memorable encounter with these remarkable birds.
Your Park admission is included within your experience, so you can end your day with a full day of adventure as you explore Yorkshire Wildlife Park at your own pace.
Age Suitability: The Sea Lion Experience is suitable for people over the age of 8. PLEASE NOTE: All children must be accompanied by a full paying participating adult aged 16+.

Accessibility: Experience involves uneven ground. Visitors with restricted mobility should call 01302 535057 to discuss individual requirements before booking. This experience is suitable for wheelchair users.

Clothing: Sensible footwear (closed toe) and clothing are required on the experience. We advise you to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
Health & Safety Guidelines: Our animals' health comes first. Face masks are required for all guests, including children, to help keep them safe during this experience. We're sorry we're unable to accommodate guests who cannot wear one.
Photography and Videography: Live streaming and video recording are strictly prohibited during all animal experiences. Our rangers will be happy to take photographs for you; however, no video recording is permitted behind the scenes. This prohibition includes the use of Meta Smart Glasses and any other wearable recording devices.
