Yorkshire Wildlife Park Wins Another Top Award
9th October 2023
Yorkshire Wildlife Park has picked up another prestigious accolade, winning a Gold Award from VisitEngland again.
The innovative park was praised for its high standards with assessors stating that they were ‘truly deserving of recognition."
VisitEngland, the national tourism agency, performed a Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme assessment at the 175-acre park and gave it top marks.
“We are totally committed to animal conservation and sharing that with the public and providing educational opportunities to promote the interests of wildlife at such a crucial time in the earth’s history.”
The park, which opened in 2009, has won a string of awards and in 2018 received a VisitEngland’s Welcome Accolade Gold Award.
VisitEngland’s Abbey Mart commented: “We would like to congratulate you and your team on your achievement and wish you great success for the future.”
The Park is currently looking forward to their upcoming festive Christmas events. Tickets are on sale now for the unmissable Winter Illuminations. The 2400m long Light and Lantern trail around the 175-acre park will be bigger and better than ever before featuring new themed installations Space Odyssey and the Spirit of Christmas. The festival, which is the biggest in Yorkshire, will run on selected dates until January 14.
Preparations are also in full swing for the annual indoor Christmas Fair. Dozens of stalls selling crafts and Christmas gifts as well as food and drink will this year be hosted undercover in a marquee as the Hive is transformed into a Winter Wonderland. There will also be 35 wooden chalets at the fair, which will run on the first three weekends of December from 12pm to 8:30pm.
CEO John Minion said: “Both the Winter Illuminations and the Christmas Fair will be bigger and better than ever before. Everyone is in for a real treat!
"Winning another prestigious accolade, a Gold Award from VisitEngland, has added to the end of year excitement in the park."
