If you know a little Spanish, you may recognise the word ‘lobos’ as wolves. In fact, the wolves in question aren’t the canine kind. The protected marine reserve Point Lobos in Monterey Bay, California derives its name from the offshore rocks ‘Punta de los Lobos Marinos’ and means
“Point of the Sea Wolves”.
