Yorkshire Wildlife Park provides a unique opportunity to inspire students on a wide range of courses, from business to animal management, YWP has something for everyone. Educational visits are self guided, however we recommend booking an education session, to enhance your visit.


HIGHER AND FURTHER EDUCATION SCHOOL VISITS

Take a wild Educational visit to the award-winning Yorkshire Wildlife Park! Explore Project Polar, home to the only Polar Bears in England! Engage in national curriculum linked interactive activities and get hands-on with incredible creatures and unique artefacts.

Spot some of the worlds most endangered animals including Amur Leopards and Tigers.

School visits at YWP are self guided (under 16’s must be supervised at all times), although education sessions can be booked to enhance your visit (please see below).

Environmental enrichment

Enclosure design

Join us to find out more about enclosure design at YWP, with given examples and a group activity.

Conservation at YWP

Learn more about YWP’s conservation work. Session includes a presentation on the conservation projects that YWP are involved in, breeding programs as well as looking at items seized by HM revenues and customs.

Discover how zoos have changed over time and how YWP are involved in education, conservation and research.

Find out more about YWP and its marketing campaigns & strategies, the session includes targeted marketing activity and examples of campaigns.

YWP as a business

Our award winning park is the nation’s fastest growing wildlife attraction. This session gives students an inside look at the park right from the beginning and our mission statement up to the present day. Perfect for course work case studies!

Customer services

An in depth look at the importance of customer service and how it is implemented at the park: a presentation and a customer needs activity.

Baboon Interactive Experience

Provides a perfect opportunity for students studying animal behaviour modules. This experience provides students with a unique experience to safely interact with our mischievous baboons using our interactive enrichment devices. Available to book throughout Dec, Jan & Feb only. Max of 10 students per group. This experience lasts approx. 30 mins and is £100 per session.

Behind the scenes tour of lion house

Visit behind the scenes areas not normally viewed by our regular visitors and meet some of our famous rescued lions. This 30-minute experience is run by one of our experienced carnivore keepers and is recommended for students on animal related courses. Available to book throughout Dec, Jan & Feb only. Max of 20 students per group. £100 per session.

PRICING

You must pre-book to receive discounted education rates. Why not incorporate an education session into your visit for just £1.60 extra per student, these hands-on interactive sessions are sure to enhance your students’ knowledge and appreciation of wildlife.
