ROOKIE RANGER ACADEMY
BRAND NEW for 2019, Rookie Ranger Academy is the perfect place for pupils aged 11-14 to get valuable behind-the-scenes experience of working with animals!
WHY DO THE COURSE?
Rookie Ranger Academy is aimed at those who would love to do our full-length Ranger Academy, but are currently too young.
If your child is thinking of a career working with animals, this two-day course will be perfect – with a mix of classroom workshops, team games and behind the scenes tour, Rookie Ranger Academy will be the perfect insight for the pupils.
The course is open to secondary school pupils aged 11-14, and will be the perfect first step towards a range of amazing jobs including becoming a vet, vet nurse or animal ranger!
Rookie Ranger Academy runs for two days, from 10am to 3pm at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Rookie Ranger Academy includes both classroom workshops and team games, as well as really interesting practical activities like cleaning out animal enclosures and a fantastic behind the scenes tour of Lemur Woods and South American Viva.
The course is run by the YWP education team, who will support students at all times during the two days. They will also benefit from the opportunity to meet with our animal rangers who will share their expertise with the students. On completion of the course all students will be awarded a certificate of completion as a token of their achievement.
